미국 민요 When It's Lamplighting Time in the Valley (산골짝의 등불)

아메리카나 음악(Americana)은 미국의 민요(민속 음악)에 미국의 음악 정신, 미국의 음악 전통이 혼합된 양식의 음악 장르이다. 포크송, 컨트리 음악, 블루스, 리듬 앤드 블루스, 로큰롤 등의 여러 음악과 미국의 민속 음악이 혼합된 형식이 특징이다.

악곡 해설

이 곡은 원래 초기 미국의 개척자들이 즐겨 부르던 민요였는데, 1933년에 라이온즈(Joe Lyons)와 하트(Sam C. Hart)가 지금의 가사로 개사했다. 그리고 미국의 여러 악단에서 다양하게 편곡하여 연주함으로써 명쾌한 곡조와 가사로서 미국은 물론 세계로 널리 퍼지고 애창하게 되었다.

아늑한 산골짝 작은 집에 아련히 등잔불 흐를 때 그리운 내 아들 돌아올 날 늙으신 어머니 기도해 그 산골짝에 황혼 질 때 꿈마다 그리운 불빛은 희미한 불빛은 정다웁고 외로운 내 발길 비치네
